05 / COMMON QUESTIONS

The details,
made clear.

Everything you need to know before making Tighten your Home screen.

01What is Tighten Launcher?+

Tighten is an Android Home screen designed to make apps faster to reach and screen time easier to understand. It replaces your current launcher when you choose it as your default Home app.

02Which phones does Tighten support?+

Tighten is built for Android 16 and optimized for the Titan 2 Elite and other keyboard phones, while adapting to compact, standard, tall, landscape, foldable, tablet, split-screen, and desktop-sized Android windows.

03Do I need a physical keyboard?+

No. Every core feature works by touch. Keyboard devices also gain fast letter-key jumps through the alphabetical app drawer.

04What is included in the Free version?+

Free is a fully functional launcher with up to five Favorites, the alphabetical app drawer, keyboard jumps, essential and Solarized themes, OLED variants, every font and wallpaper, daily screen-time totals, screen-time sorting, Recents privacy controls, and the clock, date, and battery tools.

05What does Tighten Up add?+

Tighten Up raises Favorites to 20 and adds the full theme collections, a customizable screen time usage awareness bar, a custom screen-time reset, traffic-light colors and thresholds, notification indicators, Bluetooth audio favorites, and the next calendar event display.

06Why does Tighten ask for Usage Access?+

Usage Access is optional. It lets Tighten show complete daily screen-time totals, rank apps by use, and recognize apps opened through physical shortcuts or Android Recents. Tighten still works as a launcher without it.

07What does Notification Access reveal?+

Tighten uses only the identity of the app with an active notification so it can draw an underline beneath that app. It does not display or use notification messages or attachments.

08Why is calendar access optional?+

Calendar access lets Tighten display the title, start time, and countdown for your next event. It is read-only, so Tighten cannot create, edit, or delete calendar events.

09How do screen-time stoplights work?+

Green means usage is below your warning threshold, yellow means it has reached the warning range, and red means it has reached your high-use limit. Tighten Up lets you change both thresholds in 15-minute steps.

10How does the usage awareness bar work?+

Tighten Up can show a slim progress bar along the bottom of Home. Choose a daily goal from one to six hours and use either the selected theme accent or optional green-to-yellow-to-red heat colors as total foreground app time approaches the goal. Usage Access is required.

10What happens when Bluetooth audio connects?+

Tighten Up can place your chosen audio apps above regular Favorites when headphones, speakers, hearing aids, or car audio connect. You control which apps appear and their order.

11Can I hide or clear recent apps?+

Yes. You can blur the names and icons in Recents while keeping the rows usable, or clear the list completely. Both controls are included in Free.

12Does Tighten contain ads or analytics?+

No. Tighten has no ads, analytics, accounts, or cloud sync. Optional feature data is processed on your phone.

13Can I switch back to my old launcher?+

Yes. Open Android's default-app settings and choose another Home app at any time. Your previous launcher is not removed.

14What if an installed app is missing?+

First confirm that the app has a launchable icon and is enabled in Android Settings. If it still does not appear, restart Tighten or submit a support request with your phone model and Android version.

FOCUS, WITHOUT THE FUSS

Made to help you
use less. Do more.
